Mandee Culp

Co-Director

Hi! My name is Mandee and I’m one of the Directors at DCP! I live in Lancaster County with my husband, three children and our golden retriever, Baxter. I enjoy spending time with my family upstate in the mountains, where you can find us fishing, hiking, and exploring Pine Creek. I also enjoy cheering on my daughter at her soccer games, and diving into a good book on a rainy day.

Preschool is my passion! I love partnering with families through these precious first years. Experiencing life through the eyes of a child is one of my greatest joys, and I am honored to come alongside so many wonderful families through my journey with Discovery Corner. I believe that every child is made in the image of God, and therefore inherently good. I love finding that ‘good’ in each child, and helping them to see it in themselves, too!

Ashley Richter

Co-Director and Young Creators Lead Teacher

Hi, my name is Ashley. I am the co-Director and Pre-K teacher at DCP. I live in Lancaster County with my husband, Kevin, and our four beautiful children! We are a very active family who enjoy traveling every chance we get. I absolutely love the beach, and my husband loves the woods. They say opposites attract! My children are heavily involved in sports, and almost every week night and weekend you will find me either at football, soccer, basketball, wrestling, and even track. I am also head of the concession stand for football and wrestling at my children’s school, so I think it’s safe to say that I’m quite busy all the time!

Serving and working with children has always been a huge part of my life. I am the eldest of seven, and taking care of others is just something that comes naturally. Teaching children and watching them develop emotionally, academically, and spiritually is so incredibly rewarding. Each child has their own story, and I feel privileged to be a small part of a chapter. I was a stay at home mom for 13 years before I joined the Discovery Corner crew. I prayed for years that God would guide me on the road that I should be on after raising my children. God guided me to this wonderful school, and to say I am blessed is an understatement. I’m passionate about what I do and grateful to be here every day!

Krista Blessing

Tiny Explorers Teacher

Hi! My name is Krista and I have worked in early childhood for over 12 years.  I went to college for elementary education, however, I received my first job out of college at a preschool and fell in love with it immediately! I truly believe that what children learn in these formative years lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning and I consider it such an honor to be able to be a part of this process.  It's never too early to begin showing children how much God loves them. Children are a gift and I love getting a glimpse of the world through their eyes.

Some of my favorite things are coffee, cooking, hiking, camping, reading, music, dancing, and traveling. I live right here in Lancaster City with my husband, Ashton, and children Gabriel (9), Micah (5), and Myla (1).

Rebecca Shook

Tiny Explorers Teacher

Hi! My name is Rebecca Shook ("Ms. Becca”) and I’m one of the two’s teachers here at DCP. I live in Lancaster City with my husband Mike and three boys. I enjoy coffee (lots of it) and sitting at coffee shops, traveling, organizing, spending time with my family outdoors and being with friends. Our family has been in Lancaster since 2021 and we’ve enjoyed getting to know the city, county and surrounding areas since moving here. Prior to moving to Lancaster, we lived in Beijing, China (which is where I met my husband and where all three of our kiddos were born). I miss living abroad a lot but we enjoy the diversity that we’ve found here living in the city.

Our family has been a part of DCP since spring of 2021 when we moved to Lancaster. All three of our boys have attended (or are attending) DCP and I began teaching here in 2022. We love this little community so much! My background is in early childhood education; I taught 2nd grade and kindergarten before moving to China and was involved in education loosely while living abroad. I’ve always loved teaching little ones and count it a joy to be able to teach them at an early age about God’s love for them and about their value and importance in light of the world around them.

Alice Moraga

Lead Teacher of the Little Investigators Class

My name is Alice and I live in Lititz.  My enthusiasm for teaching started early in life by playing “teacher” in the basement classroom of my childhood home. All the neighborhood children were my students. Life has lead me down various roads but one constant in my life has been my love of teaching others. I have been teaching in varied capacities my whole adult life whether it has been my own children, in professional settings or as a Sunday School teacher.

Teaching young children is what I’d consider “Kingdom Work.” I feel being the hands and feet of Christ ministering to others is a privilege.  The honesty, humor, and excitement of being part of a preschoolers life for a short time is pure joy.

I am a widow and have a special friend who is also a widower. We enjoy camping and exploring new places. We spend time together antiquing and driving down country roads looking for adventures.

My passions include books, I love to read and gardening, especially flowers. Music is also important in my life, my classroom is filled with song.
