Context:  Putting  Scripture in Its Place

by Josh Scott

Led by Pastor Jason and Pastor Laura

October 16-November 20, 6-7:30 PM

This fall, join us for Context:  Putting Scripture in Its Place by Josh Scott—a six-week bible study featuring video teaching and discussion.  We'll take a closer look at familiar Bible verses we may know by heart, but not always in their original setting.  Josh Scott explores the people, places, and times behind these passages, uncovering fresh and eye-opening insights often missed when verses are read out of context.  It's a great opportunity to connect with our pastors, meet new friends, and deepen your faith.  Childcare will be provided.  Click HERE to sign-Up!

Before the Throne” by Cricket Keeth

September 14 - October 5

Join us for an inspiring Bible study on Before the Throne by Crickett Keeth, an four-week journey through the prayers of biblical men and women who sought God in times of challenge, doubt, and need. Together, we’ll discover how to bring our struggles, questions, and worship before God with confidence, learning from examples like Moses, David, Paul, and others. This study will encourage you to draw near to God, deepen your prayer life, and find strength in His presence no matter what you face.

THE WESLEY SINGERS

Why do we get together?

For male fellowship and to sing at retirement homes in Lancaster County. We also sing as requested for funerals of deceased members of our group.

When do we get together?

There are two series, one in the spring and one in the fall of each year. Each series consists of three Mondays. The first Monday we rehearse in the morning, have lunch together and finish a short rehearsal after lunch. The next two Mondays we rehearse in the morning, have lunch together and sing at two selected retirement homes in the afternoon.

What is the makeup of the group?

The base group is made up of First Church male members in Lancaster who are retired, or have an interest in joining in our singing. We have a members of other faiths included in our group as well.

What are the requirements for inclusion?

Nothing more than an interest in male fellowship in a choral context. We do not present ourselves as being accomplished singers nor does our director expect us to be.
