Wonderfully Made: Stories of Purpose & Perseverance

Sundays, 9:30 AM Room 214/215

June 22-August 10

Starting June 22 during the adult Sunday school hour, we’re launching a new series called “Wonderfully Made: Stories of Purpose and Perseverance.” This series will celebrate the rich and varied ways God works in the lives of His people.

Each week, a different member of our church family will share their story—stories of unique careers, creative gifts, personal passions, and overcoming life’s challenges with faith. Whether someone has served behind the scenes or lived through unexpected detours, we’ll hear how God has shaped their lives and used them for His glory.

Rooted in Scriptures like Psalm 139 and Ephesians 2:10, we’ll reflect on the truth that we are God’s workmanship—fearfully and wonderfully made, created for a purpose.

This series is not just about listening—it’s about being encouraged to see your own story as part of God’s bigger story. Come be inspired, encouraged, and reminded that God is always at work in and through His people.

THE WESLEY SINGERS

Why do we get together?

For male fellowship and to sing at retirement homes in Lancaster County. We also sing as requested for funerals of deceased members of our group.

When do we get together?

There are two series, one in the spring and one in the fall of each year. Each series consists of three Mondays. The first Monday we rehearse in the morning, have lunch together and finish a short rehearsal after lunch. The next two Mondays we rehearse in the morning, have lunch together and sing at two selected retirement homes in the afternoon.

What is the makeup of the group?

The base group is made up of First Church male members in Lancaster who are retired, or have an interest in joining in our singing. We have a members of other faiths included in our group as well.

What are the requirements for inclusion?

Nothing more than an interest in male fellowship in a choral context. We do not present ourselves as being accomplished singers nor does our director expect us to be.
