First United Methodist Church is a community of belivers who feel strongly led to help each other learn and grow in their faith in Christ Jesus. Our core values state that we belive in 'grounding ourselves in the Bible' and 'believing in the centrality of Jesus Christ'.
The Spiritual Growth team helps each member to explore, learn, and question how their lives are impacted by a faith in God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit - the Trinity.
Our Adult Classes this year offer a wide variety of studies ranging from “They Like Jesus But Not the Church,” Original Sin, “Mere Christianity,” Bible studies on Romans and Matthew, and other fascinating topics that will keep you grounded in God’s word and living in his presence every day.
First Church's InsideOut Student Ministry for grades 7-12 exist to ignite passion in students for life and faith in Jesus Christ; to inspire students to grow and mature in the truth found in God's word, which is the Bible, and to live out the truth in their everyday lives; and for students to impact the culture in which they live through merciful love and revolutionary service to others and for one another.
Realizing that our children are valuable gifts from God, we are called to nurture and teach all children about God's unending love, grace, mercy and presence in their lives. Our Children's Christian Connection Classes are designed to instruct each age group, based on school grade, something new and exciting about God and the Bible. Each year our third graders receive their very own Bible from First Church on Christian Education Sunday so as to encourage each child to discover God's love through Jesus Christ. We are blessed to have a vibrate and transformational Children's Ministry here at First Church.
